T60714 Tamiya 1/72 Lockheed YF-22A Lightning II

In April 1991, Lockheed Martin's YF-22A Lightning II beat out rival manufacturer Northrop's YF-23 to be chosen as the next generation main jet fighter for the U.S. air force, replacing F-15 Eagle and F-16 aircraft. This is a plastic assembly model kit of the YF-22A which led to the later development of the F-22 Raptor. This model realistically captures the style of the YF-22A with its high maneuverability and high speed performance as well as capturing its stealth aspects. Both the canopy and weapons bay can be assembled in either open or closed positions. Decal sheet to depict the first prototype YF-22A is included.
