SDC01 BRM LCR Sidecar Schlossgold #1 - Biland

Slot Racing Motorcycle and Sidecars were very popular years ago but unfortunately, that popularity has waned so much so, that Motorcycle Sidecar outfits are no longer produced. Today fans of this type of racing has had to make do with old Scalextric sidecar outfits produced back in the early 80’s and 60’s.

Motorcycle Sidecar racing is one of the most spectacular forms of motorsport. Where the driver and passenger can be seen working together as a team, to guide the complex, high tech racing machine around the race track at breakneck speeds. BRM is hoping to bring back this type of racing to Slot Racing with their range of BRM Slot Sidecars. The BRM Sidecars are scale replicas of the Swiss Sidecar Manufacturer LCR (Louis Christen Racing) who has dominated Sidecar racing by winning 18 World Sidecar Championships and 6 World Cups. The BRM Slot Sidecars are produced at 1:18 scale and are similar in size to a 1:24 scale slotcar. They are almost 90mm in width so will only work on Ninco and Carrera Track Systems.

History

The most successfull drivers ever, were Rolf Biland ( who raced LCR from 1979 until his retirement in 1997) and Steve Webster (using LCR since 1983) won more than 100 World Championship and World Cup races. The first Sidecars released by BRM is of these two drivers.
