C3486 Scalextric Jaguar D-Type Dundrod 1955

History

The Jaguar D-Type driven by Mike Hawthorne in the 1955 Dundrod Race was in fact the spare car XKD506. Jaguar planned to run XKD505 the Le Mans winner, with an experimental De Dion axle but this proved to be too unreliable in practice. This is also why the car appears without license plates, as it was raced at Dundrod.
