History

The iconic Ford Mk II Escort had a successful rallying career, winning the RAC Rally every year from 1975-1979. Ari Vatanen managed to win the drivers title again in 1981 at the wheel of a Ford Escort RS1800, despite the arrival of the four wheel drive Audi Quattros.  The Ford MkII Escort also competed and won in numerous other international rallies.

This Cossack liveried Ford Escort of Roger Clark won the Welsh International Rally in 1975. In that same year he finished second overall in the Lombard Rally behind Makkinen.
