History
The Ford GT40 was Ford’s ambitious project to end Ferrari’s dominance at Le Mans. The first GT40’s were not successful, however success came the following year in 1966 with the Mark II version. When for the first time, an American car won the Le Mans 24hr, and Ford GT40s finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
This Ford GT40, is the 1966 Le Mans entry from Ford of France. The No 15 car (chassis P1007), was driven by Guy Ligier and Bob Grossman, but failed to finish after 205 laps, along with nine other GT40’s.
