C3297 Scalextric McLaren MP4-12C - Royal Blue (DPR)

History

The McLaren MP4-12C is the first sports car wholly designed and built by McLaren, since the McLaren F1 which ended production in 1998. The MP4-12C features a carbon fiber composite chassis, and a mid mounted McLaren M838T, 3.8 litre V8 twin turbocharged engine producing approximately 616bhp (459 kW) and 443lb ft (601 Nm) of torque.

Formula 1 sourced technologies such as “brake steer” and “Pre-Cog”, is employed on this car. Where the inside rear wheel is braked during fast cornering to reduce under steer. And power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a 7 Speed, seamless shift, dual clutch gearbox, featuring “Pre-Cog” where the next gear can be pre-selected by half pulling the paddle shifter behind the steering wheel, to enable faster gear changes.
